AUSTRALIA DOMINATES GLOBAL RETAIL MARKETING

Nine Australian retail marketing campaigns have won top gongs at the annual Shop! Global Award– the highest of any country.

Australian retail marketing campaigns, instore displays and activations won nine of the 20 Awards categories in 2023, once again asserting its prowess in the niche discipline. POP This!, IVE Group & The Mix Agency, DisplayWise, XPO Brands, The Neat Agency & 31ST were recipients of the highly coveted Global Awards which recognise excellence in point of purchase retail displays, activations, visual merchandising and store design.

Winners were selected from Gold Award winners from more than 12 Shop!/POPAI local chapters and affiliates around the world.

POP This! took home three of Australia’s nine prizes for the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Carousel & Virtual Mirror, winning Mass Merchants, Non-Food – Permanent Display, and Beauty & Cosmetics – Permanent, and Store Fixtures & Elements.

31ST won two of the coveted awards, for its Wonder Recycling Rewards campaign, for Goodman Fielder in the Shopper Marketing and Sustainability categories.

IVE Group & The Mix Agency won Food Grocery and Convenience Temporary Display for Jacobs Douwe Egberts for the Harris Made For Adventure Promotion, while XPO – The Mars Agency received the Speciality Store Concepts Award for Dr Oetker’s Queen Baking Wonderland, along with DisplayWise & Cheil, who won for the Telstra Samsung Galaxy Z Series Campaign.

The Neat Agency received Gold for its Swarovski Naughty or Nice Vending Machine under the Service Retailer, Temporary category.

Carla Bridge, General Manager of Shop! ANZ, said Australia’s success at the Awards is an indication of the strength of retail marketing locally.

“Over the years, Australia has built itself up to become a formidable force in retail marketing, beating out larger countries with more experience and players. Australia is well and truly holding their own, proving themselves among the best and brightest in the world.

“Marketing is an essential ingredient in the retail mix, driving both sales and foot traffic, and Awards such as this are a great reminder of the impact the discipline has on both brands and stores’ overall success,” Ms Bridge said.
