Field Marketing & Covid Category to return

Entries are now open for Shop! ANZ’s 24th annual Retail Marketing Awards, with the best in Australian retail marketing campaigns to be recognised across 26 categories, covering physical displays and shopper experience.

The prestigious Shop! Awards recognise and reward best practice, innovation, and excellence in retail and shopper marketing. Open to both Shop! ANZ members and non-members, entrants vie for distinguished Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes, in addition to the Award’s highest honour, the Tom Harris Retail Marketing Award (named after Shop! ANZ founder, Tom Harris).

Winners will be presented with the prestigious ‘Point’ trophy, launched earlier this year, with the Awards Gala Dinner to be the first time in more than a year that Australian retailer marketers have had to come together physically to celebrate the trial, challenges, and most importantly, successes of 2021 amid tough circumstances..

The 2021 Awards will also see the return of two relevant and popular categories to the Awards –‘Field Marketing’, which took a brief hiatus in 2020, and ‘Campaign Response to a Covid-19 Changing Shopper’, which recognises the challenges presented to marketers by the ongoing pandemic.

Carla Bridge, General Manager of Shop! ANZ, said that while the second half of 2021 has been challenging for many, some stand out work has emerged from the retail marketing space.

“2021 has been a year of ups and downs, but retail marketers in Australia and New Zealand have taken this in their stride and continued to build strong, relevant campaigns and point of sale to engage shoppers and their changing mindsets,” Ms Bridge said.

“All retail marketers have had to adapt new and existing campaigns encompassing everything from pre-store, instore and post-store to entice customers in new and different ways as they navigate the new retail landscape that has been left by the Covid pandemic.”

Submissions are open from October 6, 2021 to January 17, 2022. Entries must have been in market in the period between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Australian and New Zealand designers and producers of retail marketing material, brand owners, agencies, suppliers, and retailers are eligible to enter the Awards.

Winners will be announced at retail marketing’s night of nights, the Shop! Awards Gala Dinner, on Thursday 31 March, 2022. Tickets can be purchased Bookings made before December 31 receive a 10% Early Bird discount.
